With the weather cooling down, I figured it’s the perfect time to share some of my favorite fall and winter finds. My favorite pair of boots to wear during the colder months is hands down doc martens. Doc martens are not only timeless but also can last you years. Being the dupe tracking expert, I decided to find some affordable alternatives to doc martens that are still just as good quality. Some people even say they’re better than the originals!

These doc marten alternatives from Target are under $50 and come in different shoe widths!
One verified buyer left an extensive review and said, "I loved the fact they came in a wide option. I decided to keep the 6 1/2 wide because I had extra wiggle room for my toes/feet even with thick socks and the size 6 felt way too snug while wearing thick socks. I absolutely love these because they're almost like the platform doc martens but without having to break them in and without the stiffness. They are comfortable right away when you walk in them. Plus the price isn't that bad. I love my boots."
I bought two pairs of platform boots from Asos 6 years ago and still have them. To be fair, I would only wear them for the Fall and Winter season, but I was surprised how durable they were for the cheap price tag. These doc marten dupes have a pull tab for easy entry and a side zip closure just like the original doc martens. They are a wider fit, so you can wear these with thicker socks.

These platform ankle boots are new-in on the Steve Madden website. What I like about these is they have a lug sole to keep you from slipping (great if you're in snowy or icy conditions). I personally like how it does not have the yellow stitching like the original doc martens, giving a more subtle and timeless look.

If you haven’t heard of Dream Pairs, they basically make dupes for just about every shoe out there. They’re mostly sold on Amazon and TikTok, and they’re super affordable. I own a pair of their New Balance sneaker dupes, and for the price, they’re pretty solid. They may not be the highest quality, but they’re definitely worth what you pay for them.
These are currently 50% off at Gap and made from vegan leather.
One verified buyer said, "I love them! The material is very soft and the boot is comfortable. You can dress them up or down because they're versatile. And the price was great!"
Dr. Scholl's is known for making some of the most comfortable shoes around. These leather boots are sustainably crafted, featuring a lining, topcloth, recycled toebox, and heel counter, plus all made from recycled materials. They also come with anti-microbial and anti-odor insoles to keep your shoes fresh.

I like how these boots have the white stitching and not the classic yellow stitching that the doc martens have. It is more subtle and can be dressed up or down. Some people say they are true to size and some are saying they sized up. I always like to size up in boots so I can wear thick socks with them in the winter.

These boots are made from vegan leather and feature a soft suede lining, keeping your feet both comfortable and breathable all day long.
I read a review that said, "These boots are so cute! I was looking for a Dr. Marten’s dupe and these were a fraction of the price! They fit true to size and are comfortable. I also love the inside zipper so I don’t have to untie the laces every time I take them off. Such a cute closet staple!!"

Not your traditional doc marten style, but love the platform heel on these. They come in different colors and have good customer reviews.
One buyer said, "They are so cute and not too heavy! They are a bit stiff but they look so good and they run true to size perfectly fit! I love that the stitching is white too not yellow! Such a versatile shoe! A little shiny, would like them a bit more matte but for the price and everything considered fast shipping and all, these are like a more affordable doc Marten and I'll take affordable any day!!"
It was quite difficult to find the doc marten oxfords/loafers, but this one on Amazon looks promising. They're under $50 and have only 5-star reviews. And, it's risk free (they offer free returns). Comes in white too! ☺

Based on what I’ve found, the best Doc Marten alternatives are going to be from the popular retailers that are known for remaking brand name shoes at an affordable price. So, we're talking Steve Madden, Target, Amazon, H&M, etc. If I had to choose my favorite doc marten dupe from this list, it would probably be the ASOSAdventure Chunky Lace Up Boot (#2), just because I have had great experiences with their boots in the past. Another great option would be the Amazon Ichigo Ankle Booties that are on sale for only $36 (#8).
It really depends on what you’re after in terms of style, height, and material, but just know that each boot on this list has been thoroughly reviewed and trusted by many verified customers and some myself!

Styling Doc Marten dupes really depends on the vibe you’re going for. If I’m keeping it casual, I’ll throw them on with high-waisted flare jeans and an oversized sweater, or even just black leggings if I’m running around. When I want to dress them up, I like them with a black mini dress and a lighter trench coat or even a bomber. They also look so good with oversized blazers or a denim jacket, it gives that on trend edge but still feels put together.
