As a women who is 5'2 and 105 pounds, it can be very difficult to buy petite jeans that flatter my figure. The jeans I come across are either too long or too big on the waist, resulting in running to the tailor so often. Even then, the fit is never perfect!

I decided to take the time and finding the best places to buy petite jeans that will flatter your unique figure without breaking the bank. Whether you love baggy jeans, skinny jeans, straight-leg, flare jeans, etc. this list has it all. I've highlighted brands that are affordable such as Gap, to more high-end brands like Citizens of Humanity and Banana Republic. I hope you love them!

the best places to buy petite jeans in 2024

1. Madewell Petite Denim

Madewell is an excellent option when it comes to buying petite jeans. They're known for having great quality jeans, hence the name lol (made well). They make it super easy to shop all their different types of jeans (especially on desktop). You're able to filter by fit: wide-leg, straight-leg, vintage, flare, baggy jeans, or skinny. While pricer than Zara and H&M, their jeans are much more durable with a better fit.

Side note: they also just came out with a "petite curvy" collection!

2. Banana Republic

Banana Republic has been around for ages, and for good reason. Their designs are timeless, chic, and reasonably priced. They have a lot of bottoms including premium quality denim in petite sizing. Not to mention that their quality is top tier with some of their collections being made in Italy.

Side note: check out the Banana Republic Factory for up to 80% off retail prices!

3. Abercrombie

Abercrombie stands out from retailers like J.Crew, Gap, and Banana Republic due to its trend-focused approach hence appealing to a younger generation. Abercrombie also has a more inclusive size range like their "curve love" collection that caters to both petites and curvy women. I haven't bought Abercrombie jeans myself, but everyone I talk to loves them and considers them staples in their closets.

Ann Taylor's petite denim collection is a great option, especially for older women. They're really good at making jeans that flatter smaller frames with their precise tailoring. Plus, they offer a wide range of petite sizes with sizes ranging from 00 to 16, so you can find a perfect fit without needing to visit the tailor. Not to mention, their jeans are actually comfortable making them practical for everyday wear.

5. Favorite Daughter Petite Denim Collection

One of my current favorite brands is Favorite Daughter, founded by Erin and Sara Foster (daughters of David Foster). I bought their infamous Valentina petite flare jeans, and they're my favorite jeans by far. They hit just above the floor, perfect for sneakers or heels. I can't say that they're the most comfortable due to their structured fit, but they're incredibly flattering. They don't offer many petite denim options yet, but I'm hopeful they'll expand their styles soon.

6. Citizens of Humanity Petite Jeans

Citizens of Humanity's petite denim collection is another great option to consider. They really nail the fit and quality. Their jeans are super flattering and comfy, made from really nice denim that feels great on your skin. They have a bunch of styles too, from classic skinny jeans to trendy wide-leg and cropped cuts. Whether you're into timeless or more fashion-forward looks, they've got both options that will definitely last you a long time.

What I love about Gap is they make clothes that are timeless, comfortable, but also fashion-forward. Their petite denim collection has a bunch of styles ranging from classic straight styles, to more trendy styles like baggy and low-rise jeans. Not to mention, their prices are affordable!

How to Style Your Petite Jeans

There are so many ways you can style your jeans - it really depends on what type of vibe you are going for.

For a casual day out with friends, throw on your favorite jeans with a cool graphic tee and sneakers. Add a cute jacket or cardigan if it's a cold outside. When you're headed to work, tuck a crisp silk button-down or any blouse into some high-waisted jeans for a more formal look. Pair with ankle boots or loafers to keep it professional for the workplace.

If you're going out for the evening and want to dress up your jeans, pair it with a bodysuit or off shoulder crop top. Don't forget to accessorize with some jewelry and a cute clutch to complete your night-out vibe. When picking your jeans, think about what fits your body best and the vibe you want to give off. Skinny or straight-leg jeans are great for dressing up or down, while boyfriend jeans are ideal for a more daytime relaxed look. High-waisted jeans give you a flattering shape and go well with almost anything. Mix up different washes and styles to add your own energy to your outfit. And as always, wear with confidence!
